Education Committee/Garden Lecture Series

An Education Committee was established in 2010 to research and plan ways in which Sunnyside Master Gardeners could better reach their goal of “Helping Others Grow.”

The committee sponsors the Garden Lecture Series held in the spring and/or the fall each year. A typical lecture program is a one-day or two-evening event with three or four speakers and a light meal.

The committee also develops print materials for distribution to the public, coordinates a Speaker’s Bureau that identifies master gardeners who are available to speak at various public venues, writes articles on gardening topics for the Sunnyside Thymes, and supports other Sunnyside Master Gardener outreach activities such as Pollinator Day and the Butterfly Garden open house.

The committee coordinates their work with the Program Committee and the Executive Board.
